The Burundi comes on the number three in the list of the poorest countries in the world. This the country is located in the African Great Lakes and it is suffering from corruption, political instability, limited development, lack of infrastructure, warfare and economic crisis, all these are big hindrances in the development and the growth of the country that's why its GDP is just $770. The Burundi is regarded as the hungriest country in the world.

The Liberia is also included in the list of the poorest countries in the world. Liberia is one of the few African countries that have not been colonized by white people but colonized by the freed black slaves from America. Liberia was a developed country to some extent before two worst wars which almost caused a complete destruction of the economy of country and around 0.5 million people were killed in these wars. The fifth poorest country in the world is the Republic of Niger, which is a landlocked country located in the Western Africa. The population of Niger is more than seventeen million and the majority of them are Muslims, it is regarded as the largest nation of Africa, its eighty percent area is comprised of the Sahara Desert. With net GDP of just $1,052, the Republic of Niger is included in the low ranked African countries, where desertification is very common.

The Republic of Malawi is considered the sixth poorest country in the world, which is a landlocked country located in the Southeast Africa, it was previously known as "Nyasaland". The population of the Malawi is near about the sixteen million and it is enlisted in the poorest countries of the world because of its living standards and low GDP per capita, which is just $1,112. Although, recently some developments have been seen but these are not enough to decrease the poverty.
